What cutting a feature would save
Each row re-runs the estimate without that feature, including its share of design, QA and project management. Biggest saving first.

How this is calculated
The estimate starts from a telehealth preset: sign-in, video visits on a video SDK, provider scheduling, intake, visit notes, payments, chat, notifications and an audit log, on iOS and Android. Each feature has a low and a high hour estimate for development, multiplied by the platform and design level, plus a contingency.
Design, QA and project management are added as shares of development hours, and each role's hours are multiplied by its hourly rate.
Weeks come from total hours divided by team size and productive hours per person per week.
The hour ranges are OceanLab planning assumptions, not market benchmarks. Edit any of them in the assumptions panel.
Questions about this tool
Is the video service included?
The build hours cover integrating a video SDK. The SDK's own usage fees are a running cost; add them in the software maintenance cost calculator.
Where do the feature hours come from?
They are OceanLab planning assumptions for a typical version of each feature, not survey data. Each one is shown and editable, so you can replace it with a number from your own team or quote.
Which hourly rates does it use?
Default rates are OceanLab's own: $50 an hour for engineering, $45 for design, $40 for project management and $30 for QA. Change any of them to the rates you have been quoted.
Is anything I enter sent anywhere?
No. The tool runs in your browser and there is no sign-up. Nothing leaves the page unless you choose to email your result to OceanLab.

OceanLab product builds like this
Products OceanLab designed and built. Each case study covers the screens, the scope and the rules it was built for.

Nadi - Video Consult Platform with Guideline-Aware Prescribing
Designed and built a clickable ops console for an Indian telemedicine provider's video consult platform: a live queue across four specialties, every consult with its guideline evidence and signed e-prescription, refunds within role limits, and prescribing flags raised when a doctor tries a medicine the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines do not allow.

Remanso - Online Therapy Platform with Crisis Rules Built In
Designed and built a clickable psychologist workspace for a Spanish online therapy platform that matches clients with licensed psychologists: today's sessions with a pre-session summary, availability and bookings, a private clinical record per client, and a message inbox that flags risk phrases and replies waiting too long.

Waypost - Remote Patient Monitoring Platform with Risk-Sorted Alerts
Designed and built a clickable remote patient monitoring platform for a US cardiology and primary care group: home blood pressure, weight and SpO2 readings from cellular devices, a risk-sorted alert queue for nurses, triage with the practice's protocol on screen, and live progress toward each patient's Medicare RPM billing requirements.

Lysning - Type 2 Diabetes Programme with a Coach Console and GP Escalations
Designed and built a clickable coach console for a Danish type 2 diabetes programme that municipalities buy for their residents: a caseload sorted by risk, rule-based flags with a service standard, a full participant record, and letters to GPs that go through clinical review and MedCom delivery.

Marée - Private, Bilingual Women's Health App and Staff Console
Designed a private, English and French cycle, fertility, pregnancy and perimenopause app for users across Canada, and built a clickable staff console for it: clinical review of every article, support tools that never see health logs, and privacy requests tracked against a 30-day deadline.
