DriveLuxe — All-Electric Premium Ride-Hailing for Hong Kong

AI-Native Premium EV Ride-Hailing

Built a rider mobile app for an all-electric premium ride-hailing service — live EV map, charge-aware vehicle selection, real-time booking, and trip-completion CO₂ accounting — shipped from clickable AI prototype to App Store in 10 weeks.

Impact

10 Weeks
Prototype to App Store

1 week scope, 2 weeks clickable AI prototype, 7 weeks production build with map and routing.

All-Electric
Charge-aware fleet

Live battery percentage and remaining range surfaced for every nearby vehicle before booking.

Sub-second
ETA dispatch

Real-time dispatch with sub-second pickup ETA and live driver tracking on the map.

CO₂ saved
Per-trip impact

Every completed trip shows distance, charge used, CO₂ saved versus a comparable ICE ride.

The Problem

DriveLuxe's premium customers wanted an all-electric ride option but existing ride-hailing apps showed no fleet detail, no charge state, and no sense that this was meaningfully different from a standard car ride.

Our Solution

We delivered a focused premium rider app that surfaces the EV fleet on the map with live charge state, lets users pick by vehicle and ride type, and turns trip completion into a clear CO₂ savings story — validated through a clickable AI prototype before any production code.

The Challenge: Premium EV Without the Tesla App Treatment

Premium ride-hailing customers expect immediate, confident UX. EV detail had to enhance the experience without slowing the booking down.

Map UX Without Clutter

Showing vehicle type, charge percentage and pickup ETA on a moving map without overwhelming users took several rounds of prototype iteration.

Charge-Aware Dispatch

Dispatch had to respect remaining range and prefer high-charge vehicles for longer routes — without exposing routing complexity to riders.

Booking Confirmation Speed

Premium riders abandon if confirmation takes more than a few seconds. Vehicle selection, payment and booking had to feel instant.

Trip Completion Story

Completion screens needed to feel like a premium experience — distance, time, CO₂ saved, charge used — not a generic receipt.

Our Approach: 3 Phases in 10 Weeks

01

Discovery & Scope

Week 1: embedded with DriveLuxe's product and operations teams. Mapped the rider journey from open-app to trip completion across solo, shared and premium rides.

02

AI-Driven Clickable Prototype

Weeks 2–3: built a fully interactive iOS and Android prototype with mocked map, vehicles, and trip-completion data, so the team could click through every flow before any map integration.

03

Production Build & Launch

Weeks 4–10: shipped the production rider app for iOS and Android with live EV fleet on the map, charge-aware dispatch, premium ride types, and the trip-completion CO₂ story.

Why It Works: Outcome-Based Differentiation

Speed to Value

Most ride-hailing apps take 9–18 months to ship to App Store. We delivered a clickable AI prototype in 2 weeks and a production rider app in 10.

AI-First Prototyping

Every flow — map browse, vehicle pick, booking confirmation, trip completion — was validated in the prototype before we wrote a line of production code.

Single Accountable Team

Design, AI prototyping, mobile engineering and map/routing integration under one roof — no handoff between an app studio and a maps integrator.

Outcome-Based Engagement

DriveLuxe paid for milestones and a working rider app, not hours. Our incentives were tied directly to shipping a premium experience that riders actually used.
