How this is calculated
Fee per payment = payment × rate + fixed fee. Keyed-in payments use the manual-entry rate where the processor publishes one. International cards add the published surcharge where one was verified.
Effective rate = monthly fees ÷ monthly card volume.
Price to charge to receive an amount = (amount + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − rate).
Rates are standard US list prices from each processor's own page on the date shown. Square is not listed because its fee page did not say which plan each rate belongs to; Stripe's international surcharge could not be verified and is not included.

Questions about this tool
Why is my real rate different?
Refunds, disputes, currency conversion, payouts and negotiated or interchange-plus pricing all change it. This compares list prices on the same volume.
Does the fixed fee matter?
Yes, on small payments. A $0.30 fee is 3% of a $10 payment but 0.3% of a $100 one, so the cheapest processor can change with your average payment.
Can I add my own processor?
Yes. Enter its rate, fixed fee and international surcharge and it joins the table.
Is anything I enter sent anywhere?
No. The tool runs in your browser and there is no sign-up. Nothing leaves the page unless you choose to email your result to OceanLab.
