How this is calculated
Per plan: revenue = price × customers. Cost = (cost to serve + payment fee) × customers, where the fee = price × rate + fixed fee.
MRR is the sum of plan revenue, ARR = MRR × 12, ARPA = MRR ÷ customers, and gross margin = (MRR − cost) ÷ MRR.
Lowest price for a target margin = (cost to serve + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − fee rate − target margin).
The payment fee defaults to Stripe's standard US card rate, from Stripe's own page. Plans, customers and costs are example inputs.

Questions about this tool
What goes into cost to serve?
Hosting and database per customer, third-party APIs (email, AI, maps), and support time. Leave out sales and marketing; they sit below gross margin.
Why does the fixed fee matter?
On a cheap plan, a $0.30 fee is a large share of the price. Annual billing pays it once a year instead of twelve times.
Is there a right margin?
It depends on your business plan. Set the target you need; the tool shows which plans fall short and by how much.
Is anything I enter sent anywhere?
No. The tool runs in your browser and there is no sign-up. Nothing leaves the page unless you choose to email your result to OceanLab.

OceanLab product builds like this
Products OceanLab designed and built. Each case study covers the screens, the scope and the rules it was built for.

Tsumugi - Subscription Billing with Qualified Invoices and Furikomi Matching
Designed and built a clickable billing platform for a Tokyo SaaS company that sells shift scheduling and attendance software to Japanese businesses: invoice runs by each customer's closing date, qualified invoices with tax rounded once per rate, bank transfer matching on half-width katakana payer names, and dunning by payment method.

Kleidi - SaaS Admin Console with Consented Support Access and a Full Audit Trail
Designed and built a clickable internal admin console for an Athens SaaS company that sells housekeeping software to EU hotels: find any tenant and see everything about it on one page, enter a customer's workspace only with their consent, work GDPR data requests on the clock, and give staff elevated rights only for a limited window with someone else's approval.

Écluse - Subscription Tracker That Finds, Cancels and Checks Every Recurring Charge
Designed and built a clickable subscription tracker for a Lyon consumer app company: it finds the recurring charges in a member's bank accounts, explains which French consumer rule lets them leave, writes the cancellation letter or email, and watches the account until the charges really stop.

Bloomwright - Coffee Subscription Platform with Honest Cancellation
Designed and built a clickable subscription platform for a specialty coffee roaster shipping across the contiguous US: a care workspace to skip, swap, pause, refund and cancel for subscribers, a cancel log that replays every screen a subscriber saw, and fulfilment batches that hold boxes with an unverified address, a failed payment or short stock.
