Furniture Configurator for a Sarajevo Maker Selling Into the EU
Designed and built a clickable configurator platform for a Sarajevo maker of made-to-order sofas and dining tables that sells direct to EU consumers: one rules, price and lead-time engine that stops impossible builds, quotes a live price and deposit, and turns confirmed orders into workshop spec sheets.
Most of our work is under NDA. Per agreement, we can share the work but not the company details - all names and identifying information shown here have been changed.
Dashboard, orders, order detail, production queue with spec sheet preview, and the configuration tester running the full shopper configurator with its workings shown.
Size limit, incompatible, requires, material usage, market, auto-default and withdrawal. Velvet on a chaise, too little fabric on the roll or a walnut top wider than the boards in stock is blocked with the reason.
Vranica corner, 260 cm, band C fabric, oak legs, to Austria, with a 30% deposit of €744.00. The same engine prices the tester, every order and 6 saved test cases.
18 customers in 6 EU markets, 6 sofa and table models, 10 fabrics, 5 wood finishes, 19 spec sheets and a 12-week workshop load per line.
Hrastovac sold custom pieces from a static catalogue, a PDF price list and long email threads. A sales assistant priced each request by hand from a spreadsheet and checked fabric with the workshop, replies took two days, about one quote in six described a piece the workshop could not make, and orders reached the foreman as forwarded emails he retyped into a cutting list.
Mjera takes a shopper from a model to a paid deposit in a step-by-step, mobile-first configurator with a live price, lead time, saved designs and a view-in-your-room AR hand-off. Behind it, staff confirm orders against the live rules and stock, release spec sheets to the workshop from free capacity, and test any configuration with the price and rules worked out step by step.
Every sofa and table is made to order, so each configuration has to be checked against what the workshop can build, what is in stock, what may be sold in the shopper's market and what EU consumer law requires before payment.
A chaise on the wrong side of a model that only mirrors one way, a table top wider than the oak boards in stock or a fabric without enough on the roll for the length all went out as quotes. Sizes, layouts, fabrics and finishes interact, and only the foreman knew the limits.
The price depends on the layout's base width, centimetres over it, depth, fabric band, legs and extras, then VAT and delivery for the destination. The lead time depends on build hours for the size and free workshop capacity. Both were worked out from a spreadsheet.
The Consumer Rights Directive gives 14 days to withdraw from a distance sale, with an exception for goods made to the consumer's specifications. Whether a configuration falls under it is not settled the same way everywhere, so the terms have to be decided per model and shown before payment.
Goods ship from Bosnia and Herzegovina, so listings need the manufacturer and an EU responsible person under the GPSR, wood needs species and origin records for the EUDR, fabrics need market-specific fire-safety clearance such as Ireland's, and prices must include destination VAT.
Mapped 8 roles from shopper to workshop foreman, 34 screens (12 shopper and 22 staff) with 5 slide-over panels, and the data model for models, layouts, option sets, fabrics, wood finishes, rules, pricing formulas, designs, orders, spec sheets and workshop capacity. Wrote down the rules the design follows: the Consumer Rights Directive, the GPSR, the EUDR, upholstery fire-safety rules, import VAT, GDPR and Bosnia and Herzegovina's new data protection law, hosted payments with SCA, and the European Accessibility Act.
Built 5 key staff screens on a production dashboard kit: the dashboard with what needs attention and 12 weeks of workshop load, orders with status counts and a quick view, order detail where Confirm order re-runs the rules and stock check and can block, the production queue with material checks and release to a planned week, and the configuration tester with the full shopper configurator, conflict handling, rules by id, the price step by step and Run all on saved test cases.
The shopper site with model pages, the 3D and 2D preview, AR Quick Look and Scene Viewer hand-off, swatches, cart, deposit checkout and magic-link accounts. Hosted payments through a provider such as Stripe, Adyen or Monri, 3D asset hosting, transactional email, parcel and freight carriers and address validation. Staff roles, versioned catalogue publishing, the model, rules and pricing editors, the workshop tablet view and an audit log.
Fabric and wood tiles that cannot be used are greyed out with the reason: not enough on the roll for this size, not cleared for your market, or velvet on a chaise layout. When a new choice breaks an earlier one, a banner offers Keep my new choice or Undo, and nothing is changed silently.
A sticky price bar shows the total with VAT and delivery for the market, the deposit due today and the ready-to-ship window, worked out from build hours and the first week with free capacity on the upholstery or joinery line.
Confirm order re-runs every line against the live rules and stock. In the demo, HA-26-04119 is blocked because its Vrelo velvet in Rust needs 17.5 m and only 14 m is in stock. Released spec sheets carry the top view, bill of materials and cutting list, so nothing is retyped.
Each order stores the version of the terms the customer accepted and a withdrawal acknowledgement per line. Payments show only the provider reference, method and last four digits, because card data stays with the payment provider.

Designed and built a clickable seller dashboard for a La Paz marketplace of handmade Andean textiles and crafts: a Today view of what to do first, orders grouped by dispatch date, listings checked for EU product safety data and protected materials, and payouts that explain every balance in plain language.

Designed a mobile-first headless storefront for an Andorran outdoor apparel brand selling to Andorra, the EU, the UK and Switzerland, and built a clickable demo of its staff admin: storefront health, merchandising rules, a collection grid editor, CMS content status and per-market prices, taxes and legal settings.
