Driver App for an Istanbul Parcel Carrier
Designed an offline-first driver app and built a clickable supervisor web view for an Istanbul last-mile parcel carrier: a live board of every driver on shift, one queue for exceptions, a proof-of-delivery audit that shows how far from the stop each parcel was handed over, and driver records with document expiry and scores.
Most of our work is under NDA. Per agreement, we can share the work but not the company details - all names and identifying information shown here have been changed.
Live board with the driver day panel, exceptions queue, proof-of-delivery audit with the stop proof panel, drivers list and driver detail with 6 tabs.
A delivery further than 250 metres from the stop needs the driver's reason. The audit flags it next to no photo, gallery upload attempts and disputed proofs.
Failed deliveries, outside radius, load and returns differences, incidents, vehicle defects, cash shortfalls, expired documents, drivers offline, stop order changes and proof disputes, each with severity and assignee.
16 employed and 10 independent drivers across 3 depots, with 20 exceptions, 22 proofs of delivery, generated stops, documents, shifts and earnings statements.
Lodosyol's 900 drivers worked from a handheld scanner app that only worked online, WhatsApp groups per depot, paper failed-delivery cards and a spreadsheet for cash on delivery. Scans queued in basements and tunnels and sometimes vanished, drivers called recipients from their own phones, proof was a signature scrawl with no photo or location, and about 1.8% of delivered parcels became "not received" disputes that Lodosyol usually lost.
Heybe covers a driver's whole day on a phone that often has no signal: shift start with document and vehicle checks, load scan, the route with a handoff to navigation, every delivery outcome with proof, failed deliveries with reason codes, masked customer contact and end of day cash handover. A supervisor web view lets depot staff watch the day, work exceptions, audit proof and keep driver documents and scores current.
Lodosyol delivers for about 140 e-commerce shippers from three depots, Hadımköy and İkitelli on the European side and Dudullu on the Asian side. Its drivers work in basements, tunnels and dense old neighbourhoods, and every doorstep produces personal data, proof and sometimes cash.
The old scanner app needed a connection. When a driver lost signal in a building, scans queued and sometimes vanished, so shippers saw "out for delivery" for parcels that had been delivered hours earlier.
A signature drawn on a phone is simple electronic evidence, not a secure electronic signature under Law No. 5070. With no photo, time or location behind it, Lodosyol had little to show when a shipper reported a parcel as not received.
KVKK covers recipients' names, addresses, phone numbers, signatures, photos and ID checks, and drivers' location and documents. Drivers calling from their own phones exposed personal numbers on both sides, and ID checks can touch special categories of data.
About 520 employed drivers and 380 independent owner-drivers do the same work. Turkish courts may treat a contractor as an employee under Labour Law No. 4857 when the business controls how and when they work, and independents could not see their earnings until the fortnightly statement.
Mapped 8 roles, 33 screens (24 in the driver app, 9 in the supervisor web) plus panels, sheets and modals, and the data model for routes, stops, parcels, offline events, proof of delivery, ID checks, cash on delivery, reason codes, cash handovers, pay rates and scores. Wrote down the rules the design follows: KVKK and its 2024 cross-border amendment, Labour Law No. 4857, the Highway Traffic Law, the Electronic Signature Law, BTK postal authorisation and GİB e-document rules.
Built the supervisor web's 5 key screens on a production dashboard kit: the live board with KPIs, driver map and a driver day panel with route, timeline and vehicle check; exceptions with assign, escalate and resolve with a note; the proof-of-delivery audit with the weekly random sample and stop proof panel; the drivers list; and driver detail with document review, 12-week score trends, shifts and earnings for independent drivers. A depot switcher filters the live board.
The 24 driver app screens with the offline outbox and every delivery flow, integration with Lodosyol's dispatch system, masked calls and SMS through Verimor or Netgsm, push notifications, ID reading with Regula or ReadID, parcel locker APIs and a Bluetooth card terminal. Data kept in a Turkish data centre with self-hosted Sentry, an append-only audit log, the supervisor messages, depot load, cash handover and settings screens, and legal review of the lawful basis for each purpose.
Every driver action is saved on the phone first as an event and sent when the connection returns, accepted once by its id. The live board counts drivers not synced in 20 minutes and raises an exception, while their events stay safe on the phone.
Each delivery records the driver's location against the stop, photos must be taken in the app rather than picked from the gallery, and PINs are checked offline against a hash. The stop proof panel shows all of it, and a random 20 deliveries per driver per week are set aside for review.
Location is tracked only while a shift is open, never on breaks. Calls go through masked numbers, documents show only their last 4 characters, and an ID check stores the result, never an image. Above 10 km/h the app shows only Navigate and Arrived.
Owner-drivers can decline offered routes, choose their own breaks and are not scored on the same disciplinary basis. They see per-drop earnings in the app as they go, and their record in the supervisor web adds an Earnings tab with rates by zone and fortnightly statements.

Designed and built a clickable operator console for an Almaty freight broker that matches shippers' road loads with vetted small carriers: a live load board from posting to invoice, full load detail with border and TIR data, a carrier vetting queue with automated checks, and carrier payouts with quick pay and fraud holds.

Designed a shipment tracking portal and operations console for an Antwerp freight forwarder moving ocean and air freight between Asia and Europe, and built the ops console as a clickable demo: shipment files with predicted and carrier ETAs, milestone timelines that show their sources, an exception queue against response targets and carrier data feed health.
