Alumni Network for a Private University in Amman
Designed and built a clickable alumni office console for a private university in Amman with about 45,000 graduates in more than 60 countries: verify account claims against registrar records in Arabic and Latin script, keep one clean record per graduate with per-field privacy, and issue a numbered official receipt for every gift.
Most of our work is under NDA. Per agreement, we can share the work but not the company details - all names and identifying information shown here have been changed.
Dashboard, verification queue, alumni records, record detail with 7 tabs, and donations and receipts. Every one of the 26 demo records opens its own record page.
Claims scoring under 0.92 go to the verification queue, where each candidate record is compared field by field as exact, similar, different or missing: Arabic name, Latin name, date of birth, student number, programme and year.
Gifts at or above JOD 5,000.000 are held for review and released only by a second approver. Receipts run in an unbroken R-2026 sequence, and a voided receipt stays on record.
26 alumni records with names in Arabic and Latin script, 14 account claims across every queue state, 22 donations over 6 payment methods, 5 funds and 6 bank credits.
Tal Sawsan's Alumni Relations Office had current contact details for fewer than one in five graduates. The registrar, a reunion spreadsheet, the careers office and chapter WhatsApp groups in Dubai, Riyadh, Doha and London each held their own list. Names were spelled three different ways across systems, so every import created duplicates, and donations arrived by bank transfer with no reference while receipts were typed by hand weeks later.
Dufaa gives the alumni office one console for every graduate the university knows about. Claims are matched against registrar records in both scripts and the rest are checked in a queue with a working-day SLA, each record shows who can see every field and what each alumnus consented to, and every gift is tracked from payment to a numbered official receipt.
An alumni office in Jordan works with names in two scripts, graduates in more than 60 countries, consent rules at home and abroad, and gifts that arrive through card, CliQ, bill payment, bank transfer and cash.
Arabic names often have four parts (given name, father, grandfather, family) and are transliterated inconsistently, so Mohammad, Muhammad and Mohammed can be one person. Matching has to compare Arabic script and normalised Latin forms, and must never merge records on name alone.
Graduates claim an account by matching a registrar record that the alumni office never edits. Claims that cannot be matched automatically need a human check within 2 working days, counted on Jordan's Sunday to Thursday week.
Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023 generally requires clear, documented consent and gives rights to access, correct and delete data. EU-resident alumni are treated to GDPR standards as a precaution, and transfers outside the Kingdom are generally allowed only on a permitted basis.
Bank transfers arrived with no reference and receipts were typed by hand. A receipt has to state whether the gift is eligible for a Jordanian income tax deduction, and large or unusual gifts must be held for review under Jordan's anti-money laundering framework.
Mapped 11 roles from records officer to finance and data protection officer, 57 screens across the alumni app, public pages and office console, and the data model for alumni records, accounts, claims, match candidates, consents, imports, duplicates, donations, receipts and bank credits. Wrote down the rules the design follows: Jordan's PDPL, cross-border transfer limits, GDPR for EU residents, opt-in direct marketing, receipt and tax wording, AML holds, PCI DSS and the Jordanian working week.
Built 5 key screens of the alumni office console on a production UI kit: the dashboard with KPIs against last year, claims funnel, a needs-attention list and a role switch; the verification queue with match comparison, evidence and device risk; alumni records with search in either script; record detail with edit, mark deceased, merge and restrict; and donations with receipt preview, release, void and reissue, refund and bank credit matching. All actions run on local state.
The registrar feed (such as Ellucian Banner or PeopleSoft Campus Solutions), Microsoft Entra ID for staff, HyperPay or Checkout.com, CliQ and eFAWATEERcom payments, email and SMS one-time codes, and Arabic-aware directory search. Plus a full audit log, the 22-screen alumni app in Arabic and English, the public pages, the remaining console screens, and confirmation of the data protection and donation rules with Jordanian counsel.
A queued claim shows its top candidate records with a score and a field-by-field comparison of what the claimant typed against the registrar record. Records carry name variants, so staff find a graduate by any spelling in either script, and a likely duplicate is noted for review rather than merged automatically.
Each claim turns amber after 1 working day and red after 2, and asking for more information pauses the clock. The dashboard lists items past or close to their SLA, counted Sunday to Thursday, and My work shows what is waiting for the signed-in role.
Every profile field shows its audience, from Only me to Public. Hidden fields are marked and viewing one is audited, consents are listed per purpose with date and method, and deceased records are excluded from every audience.
Each donation shows its payment events, hold reason and a receipt preview with the tax note. Held gifts need a second approver, voiding a receipt needs a reason and keeps the old number, cards show only the brand and last four digits, and unmatched bank credits are matched by hand.

Designed and built a clickable operator console for a Zurich company's end-to-end encrypted messenger for families and small groups: an abuse report queue worked only from content users chose to forward, account pages that list what the server holds and what it does not, and a law enforcement desk that answers only with data that exists.

Designed and built a clickable community admin console for an Oslo software company's white-label community platform, shown for its first customer, a national hiking association: a community overview, a moderation queue with a full case workspace and decision flow, and event management with RSVPs, waitlist, check-in and attendee messages.
