Derb - Store Staff App and Head Office Console for a Parapharmacy Chain

Store Operations Platform for a Moroccan Beauty Retailer

Designed and built a clickable head office console for a chain of 40 parapharmacy and beauty stores in Morocco: send task campaigns in French and Arabic, track every store to the last photo, run product recalls against a deadline, and see which stores are compliant this week and why.

Impact

5 Screens
Clickable end to end

Dashboard, compliance by region and store, store detail, campaigns and campaign detail with the photo proof viewer. Each of the 40 stores and 14 campaigns opens its own page.

4-Hour
Recall confirmation deadline

The recall campaign tracks each affected store's shelf and stockroom quantities against the deadline, highlights late stores, and blocks closing until every store has confirmed or marked no stock.

4 Weights
Behind the compliance index

Tasks 40%, audit 30%, announcement acknowledgements 15% and lessons 15%, shown on screen and banded green at 85 and above, amber from 70 to 84 and red below 70.

40 Stores
Realistic demo data

6 regions, 17 campaigns, 240 area manager audits, 5 announcements, 12 incidents and one open recall across 22 stores, with instructions in French and Arabic.

The Problem

Louzia's head office sent store instructions through WhatsApp groups, emailed PDFs and phone calls to 40 store managers. A promo launch meant 40 photos in a group chat with no way to tell which stores had not done it, missed price changes left shelf labels and tills disagreeing, and a sunscreen recall took the operations team a day of phone calls to confirm. Shift swaps happened in chats, attendance lived in paper books, and store visits were scored on paper.

Our Solution

Derb gives store staff one mobile app, in French or Arabic, for shifts, clock-in, task lists with photo proof, product lookup, holds, announcements, audits and lessons. Head office gets a console to send task campaigns and recalls to the right stores, review photo proof, and watch a compliance index per store and region.

The Challenge: One Instruction, 40 Stores, Proof From Each

Louzia's stores range from street shops to mall units and kiosks across six regions. Head office needs every instruction done the same way everywhere, with proof, while staff share store devices, work in two languages and handle personal data covered by Moroccan law.

No View of Who Has Done What

Planograms, price changes and promo setups went out by chat and email. Photos arrived in group chats, nobody could see which stores had not acted, and nobody at head office could say which stores were compliant this week, or why.

Recalls Confirmed by Phone

A recall starts from the supplier or an authority such as the AMMPS. Louzia has to carry the instruction to every affected store and prove the batch was pulled and counted, which meant a day of calls for one sunscreen batch.

Two Languages, Shared Devices

Every screen, task and announcement has to work in French and in fully right-to-left Arabic, with Western digits in both. Many staff sign in on a shared store device, so nothing personal can stay on screen after the next person signs in.

Staff Data Under Law 09-08

Shifts, clock-in times, location at clock-in, photos and audit scores are personal data supervised by the CNDP. Employee geolocation may need prior authorisation, so clock-in has to be proportionate, with no background tracking and a store-device alternative.

Our Approach: From Store Instructions to a Clickable Console

01

Spec and Rules Research

Mapped 10 roles from store associate to HR and admin, 51 screens across the mobile app and head office console, and the data model for stores, regions, shifts, punches, campaigns, tasks, photo reviews, recalls, audits, announcements, incidents and lessons. Wrote down the rules the design follows: Law 09-08 and CNDP filings, employee geolocation, the Labour Code on working time, price display under Law 31-08 and the recall chain.

02

Clickable Demo on a Production UI Kit

Built the head office console's 5 key screens on a production dashboard kit: the dashboard with KPIs, live campaigns, region league table, needs attention list and a store map by compliance band, compliance by store with table, heatmap and CSV export, store detail with tasks, audits, team, incidents, holds and announcements, the campaign list, and campaign detail with the photo wall and the recall view. All actions run on local state.

03

What a Production Build Adds

The store mobile app, offline-first, in French and Arabic. Head office single sign-on, store device management in kiosk mode, push notifications, geofence checks at clock-in, barcode scanning, product, price and stock data from Louzia's ERP, WhatsApp or SMS hold notices, payroll hours export, CNDP filing records per processing purpose and a full audit trail of sign-offs, time edits, scores and recall confirmations.

Why It Works: Every Store Accounted For

Campaigns Tracked to the Last Store

Each campaign shows stores done against target, stores late and photos waiting review. Head office can filter late stores, remind them, extend the deadline for chosen stores with a reason, and approve or send back photo proof with a reason.

Recalls That Cannot Be Closed Early

The recall view lists product, EAN, batches, source notice and level, then each store's shelf and stockroom quantities and quarantine location. Late stores are highlighted, and close stays blocked until every store has confirmed or marked no stock.

Compliance You Can Explain

The compliance index shows its weights on screen, and each store row breaks it down into tasks due, on time, late, not done, photos sent back, last audit and open actions, so a low score always comes with its reason.

Built for Two Languages and Proportionate Data

Every instruction carries French and right-to-left Arabic text. Clock-in reads location once, against the store geofence, and stores only inside or outside and distance. Store pages show hold counts, never customer details.
